Porsche is dusting off its sleeper sedan once again. The current third-generation Panamera is being lined up for a scheduled facelift — and the prototypes are already hammering laps around the Nürburgring. In North America, the refreshed car will land as a 2028 model.
Don't expect a styling revolution. Judging from the spy shots, the Panamera will get reshaped headlights wearing the familiar daytime-running-light signature and a redesigned front bumper with different air intakes. At the back, expect a reworked bumper, a fresh diffuser and new taillight graphics.
The body's silhouette will likely stay untouched. New wheel designs, on the other hand, look very much on the table. One prototype was caught with its center console and armrest covered — a quiet hint that the cabin will be reshuffled. And the screens, naturally, will pack updated software.
The real intrigue sits under the hood. There's no hard data yet, but the engine lineup is expected to carry over. Porsche will almost certainly tweak individual versions — fuel consumption and emissions are squarely in the crosshairs of Europe's incoming legislation. The mission of this facelift is simple: keep the Panamera in the conversation until the next generation shows up. If it ever does.
