Hyundai has announced that its three-row electric SUV, the Ioniq 9, has achieved top scores in both key global safety systems: the American IIHS and European Euro NCAP. The model earned TOP SAFETY PICK+ status and a 5-star rating respectively, placing it among the safest family EVs on the market.

In the U.S., the Ioniq 9 demonstrated "Good" ratings across all categories, from frontal and side collisions to nighttime tests of accident prevention systems. Experts highlighted its consistent preservation of survival space, effective airbag deployment, and reliable detection of pedestrians and cyclists under various conditions.

Euro NCAP also awarded the model its highest rating. The child protection segment was particularly impressive, with 6- and 10-year-old dummies scoring maximum points in key tests. This high result was driven by a rigid body structure and a full suite of modern driver-assist features.

Beyond safety, the Ioniq 9 is actively collecting professional awards for design, practicality, and technology, ranging from Auto Focus Vehicle of the Year to German Premium Car of the Year 2026. Engineering based on the E-GMP platform enables fast 800V charging, a spacious 7-seat interior, and a high driving range, making this model a strong competitor in the large EV-SUV segment.

Overall, the success of the Ioniq 9 shows how quickly Hyundai is shifting the market's focus from affordable EVs to full-fledged premium solutions that can compete with European brands across all key metrics.
