Subaru has issued a recall for 756 Levorg and WRX vehicles manufactured between December 8 and 24, 2025. The issue involves a potential failure of the electric power steering assist. During assembly, some cars received an improperly secured connector for the electric power steering unit. If this connector loosens due to vibration, it could trigger a warning light and cause a sudden increase in steering effort. While this doesn't mean a total loss of steering control, it does represent a significant safety concern.

The automaker reports that the problem was identified through internal quality checks, with no accidents or customer complaints reported so far. As part of the recall campaign, dealerships will inspect the connection in the power steering unit and ensure it's properly secured. If the connector is found to be incorrectly installed, the entire steering rack mechanism will be replaced.

Two additional Levorg vehicles are under separate scrutiny because they may have received a defective replacement part during service. Another repair case requires the same inspection procedure. Subaru emphasizes that this issue is limited to a small batch of vehicles and is already being addressed.
