MINI wanted to remind everyone about its most powerful convertible — and it didn’t need a new engine to do it. Instead of another technical debut, the brand dropped a fresh photoshoot of the John Cooper Works Convertible on August 19, dressed in a striking Sunny Side Yellow. Just in case you’d forgotten this car exists.
Under the hood, nothing’s changed: the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo pushing out 231 hp and 380 Nm of torque. Zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) takes 6.4 seconds, and top speed lands at 245 km/h (152 mph). Fuel consumption on the combined WLTP cycle is rated at 7.1 l/100 km.
Sunny Side Yellow is part of the current JCW Cabrio color palette on the German market. And this is not a cheap car by any measure: MINI’s current price list sets the base cost at €44,000. Add the mandatory €950 delivery and preparation fee, and the total comes to €44,950.
It was previously reported that MINI will unveil a new model at the UNITED JAPAN 2026 festival.
