At the Chengdu Motor Show 2026, Jetour's Zongheng sub-brand showed off multiple versions of the massive G700, including the rugged Topfire off-road edition, ahead of its planned Russian launch.

904 horses under the hood of a body-on-frame giant — and that's not even the top version. At the 29th Chengdu Motor Show 2026, it was Chery's newcomer sub-brand Zongheng that unexpectedly stole attention from the main stand. Reporters photographed several versions of the massive frame-built G700 here — from the standard trim to a hardcore off-road variant fitted with all-terrain tires, extra gear, and the signature Topfire styling.

Behind the brutal looks hides technology you don't often find in a classic body-on-frame off-roader. The G700 is built on the GAIA platform and runs a plug-in hybrid setup with a 2.0-liter turbo engine and two electric motors. Combined output is 665 kW, or roughly 904 hp, with 1,135 Nm of torque. The sprint to 100 km/h takes a claimed 4.6 seconds. Seriously.

The dimensions match the ambition: 5,198x2,050x1,956 mm on a 2,870 mm wheelbase. A 34.13 kWh battery delivers up to 150 km of electric-only range on the CLTC cycle, while total claimed range reaches 1,400 km. A 30-80% charge takes about ten minutes — provided you can find a fast enough station.

In China, the G700 lineup starts at 329,900 yuan, or roughly $46,000 at current exchange rates. The factory-built Topfire version pictured here costs noticeably more: its official price is 424,900 yuan (about $59,500), with a limited-time promotional price of 399,900 yuan (around $56,000).

JETOUR officially promised back in November 2025 to bring the G700 to the Russian market in 2026. As of this writing, though, the model is still missing from the automaker's official site among vehicles with published Russian pricing — leaving cost, trim levels, and the exact launch date an open question.

The G700 itself isn't new to Chengdu: the model first appeared here a year ago before heading to the Chinese market. What's more interesting at this year's show is how the family keeps growing — alongside the regular versions, Zongheng is now rolling out factory off-road variants too. And for the eventual Russian version, the real question isn't power anymore — there's no doubt left there. It's whether its price will land anywhere close to the Chinese range of $46,000–$59,000 once import costs and local adaptation are factored in.
