General Motors has released an updated solution to address a fuel consumption issue related to injector parameters on certain Chevrolet Trax models. The company has revised its previous service bulletin and simplified the repair procedure.

The new service campaign, designated A252528630, applies to specific 2025–2026 Chevrolet Trax crossovers currently in dealer inventory. According to the bulletin published in January 2026, the only required action is now a software update to the engine control module (ECU). GM has instructed dealers to disregard earlier versions of the document, as the repair process has changed.

GM explains that under certain driving conditions and due to variations in injector flow characteristics, the system may not optimize fuel delivery as intended. However, instead of replacing components, dealers are directed to reprogram the ECU using the Service Programming System. No parts are needed for this fix.

Starting February 7, 2026, the ECU reflash becomes the sole approved method for resolving the issue under this campaign. The bulletin retains provisions for injector replacement if parts were ordered or installed before the update—in such cases, the procedure involves three injectors and related components.

The campaign is valid until January 31, 2027. Before performing repairs, dealers must check if a vehicle qualifies for the update via the Investigate Vehicle History (IVH) system. GM also emphasizes that all affected vehicles in dealer stock must be repaired before sale or delivery to customers.
