Audi Q7 phase-out starts ahead of 2026 new generation launch
Audi is phasing out the current Q7, with the SQ7 soon unavailable in Europe. Learn about the limited editions and the upcoming 2026 model.
Audi has begun phasing out the current Q7, a model that has been on the market for over a decade. The existing version, launched in 2015 and later updated, is being removed from European catalogs to make way for an all-new generation set to debut in 2026.
Spy photos have long captured the third-generation Q7 in testing, including prototypes of the SQ7 with final camouflage. Against this backdrop, the departure of the current generation was inevitable. In the Czech Republic, for example, the sporty SQ7 will only be available for another week before disappearing from the local configurator. This indicates that quotas are running out and no further updates are planned.

The manufacturer is preparing markets for the generational shift in a traditional way: limited editions with enhanced equipment and reduced prices are appearing in some countries. In Spain, the most technologically advanced variant, the Q7 TFSIe plug-in hybrid, has been removed entirely from the configurator. Only the 231 and 286 hp V6 TDI diesel, a 340 hp mild-hybrid gasoline model, and the powerful 507 hp V8 SQ7 remain available.
The new Q7 is expected to launch in the first half of the year and will serve as a key update for Audi in the premium SUV segment. With competitors like the BMW X5 and Mercedes GLE already preparing facelifts, Audi aims to synchronize its launch to maintain its position in the class.
