Vauxhall Grandland Griffin: More kit, lower price
Vauxhall Grandland Griffin offers more equipment at a lower price, with hybrid or EV powertrains. Features heated seats, matrix lights, adaptive cruise. From £31,480.
Vauxhall has introduced a new Grandland Griffin grade to the UK market, and rather than relying on bold design changes, the brand is leaning heavily on value: more standard equipment for less money than the equivalent trim it replaces.
Outside, the Griffin distinguishes itself with a black roof, tinted rear windows, and model-specific wheels: 19-inch black alloys on the hybrid or 20-inch diamond-cut alloys on the electric version. Vauxhall’s signature 3D Vizor front end and illuminated rear badge remain unchanged.
Inside, the Griffin adds features you immediately appreciate on cold mornings or long journeys: heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and an AGR-certified driver’s seat with 10-way adjustment including pneumatic lumbar support and power-adjustable seat cushion angle. These aren’t brochure flourishes; they genuinely reduce fatigue behind the wheel.

Two powertrains are available. The electric Grandland Griffin uses a 73 kWh battery and a 213 hp electric motor with 345 Nm of torque. WLTP range is up to 322 miles—roughly 518 km. A heat pump is standard, and 160 kW DC fast-charging capability can bring the battery to 80% in around half an hour.
For those not yet ready to go fully electric, there’s a 48-volt mild hybrid. It pairs a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine with an electric motor for a combined 145 hp, and shifts through a six-speed dual-clutch automatic. Fuel consumption is pegged at around 5.5 L/100 km, with CO2 emissions starting at 123 g/km.
The standard equipment list is far from basic. Griffin models come with adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane keep assist, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, Intelli-LED matrix headlights, a 10-inch central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 10-inch digital instrument cluster.
Electric versions also include the Electric All In package, which bundles eight years of roadside assistance (including support for a flat battery), a £500 credit for home, street, or public charging, the equivalent of 10,000 miles of free home charging when switching to a compatible electricity tariff, and access to Vauxhall Connect Plus services.
Price is the Griffin’s headline act. The hybrid Grandland starts from £31,480 on the road, undercutting the previous Design trim by over £5,000 despite richer equipment. The electric Grandland Griffin begins at £34,495 after the Electric Car Grant is applied.
