A camouflaged electric SUV, nearly identical to the Chery iCar V23, has been spotted in India, fueling expectations of an imminent local launch following the Jetour T2. Since JSW Motors is partnering with Chery, adding this model to the lineup seems a logical next step.

The Chinese-spec iCar V23 is a rugged electric crossover with 205–210 mm of ground clearance. It measures 4220x1915x1845 mm. Round headlights are connected by a blank front panel, and the bumper echoes the Jeep Wrangler's style. At the rear, instead of a spare tire, there's an external storage box reminiscent of the electric Mercedes G-Class. Wheel options go up to 21 inches.

Inside, the cabin features dark tones with yellow accents. It includes a large 15.4-inch central display, physical climate controls, electric and ventilated front seats that fold flat, USB ports, a 7-speaker audio system, and a PM2.5 filter.

Safety features comprise ADAS, 360-degree cameras, parking sensors, and disc brakes all around.

Two powertrain options are available: a 136 hp RWD with a 59.93 kWh battery and a 401 km CLTC range, or a 211 hp AWD with an 81.76 kWh battery and up to 510 km of range. Acceleration to 100 km/h is 11 seconds and 7.5 seconds respectively, with a top speed of 140 km/h. Fast charging supports 85–104 kW.

The arrival of the iCar V23 in India could shake up the rugged electric crossover segment, where there are currently no direct competitors in the MG Windsor EV's price bracket. Its bold design, high ground clearance, and long range carve out a new niche—electric lifestyle off-roaders that compete not just on price but also on visual appeal. This matters because, in the Indian market, perceived off-road capability often outweighs actual performance.
