The Mercedes-AMG G 63 has long been the ultimate symbol of luxury SUVs, even in stock form. Now, Vintage Modern and Carlex have taken things further, making it even more exclusive and eye-catching. Their Vintage G-Wagon project transforms the modern G-Class into a retro-flavored machine with an almost aristocratic cabin.
The build starts with an AMG G 63 packing a 4.0-liter V8 producing 577 hp. In the US, that SUV starts at $195,500. The Vintage G-Wagon program adds roughly $200,000 to the tab, bringing the total to nearly $500,000—about 35.4 million rubles at current exchange rates.

For that money, buyers aren't getting more power—they're getting a different level of craftsmanship. The SUV is reworked in Atlanta, with 12 color combinations, chrome wheels, white-accented tires, a cabin almost entirely in Nappa leather, Alcantara painted to match the interior, contrast stitching, and a teak trunk floor with brass inlays. The warranty extends 4 years or about 80,000 km beyond Mercedes-Benz's factory coverage.
There's also an unusual service perk: if a problem can't be solved remotely, the tuner promises to send technicians to the owner within 72 hours. For a vehicle at this price point, that's not a luxury—it's part of the peace of mind that comes with the leather and carbon fiber.

Mechanically, the G 63 is left untouched. That's a key point: the Vintage G-Wagon is bought for its image, not its acceleration numbers. While most G-Class models go for a blacked-out, aggressive look, this one channels old money with a light interior and yacht-like aesthetics. Half a million dollars for style sounds insane, but in the world of the G-Class, that's practically its own currency.
