BYD is making its God's Eye driver assistance system available on nearly all models, including the affordable Seagull. Learn how this technology reduces accidents and what's coming next.

BYD is rolling out its God’s Eye driver assistance system across nearly its entire lineup. The technology is no longer limited to pricey models; it is now available on the compact Seagull, known in some markets as the Dolphin Surf.

The God’s Eye family comes in three versions—A, B, and C—targeting high-end, mid-range, and entry-level cars respectively. According to BYD, these assistants are already fitted to over 60 models from BYD itself as well as the Denza, Fang Cheng Bao, and Yangwang brands. In total, nearly 3 million vehicles are equipped with the system.

The company claims that using God’s Eye cuts the frequency of serious accidents to one-sixth of what it would be under human control. Parking assist, it says, reduces minor collisions and scratches to just one-fiftieth of the normal rate.

Senior Vice President Yang Dongsheng noted that Level 2 driver assistance systems are now available on almost all of BYD’s passenger cars. Activation rates exceed 50%, and the parking assistant is used in 86% of cases.

On May 28, BYD will unveil a new intelligent driving strategy. An updated version of God’s Eye is expected to be part of the announcement. Against the backdrop of the 2026 model year, such systems are becoming a key battleground in the Chinese market.
