Huawei and JAC's ultra-luxury Maextro V800 packs rear-wheel steering, a 5.4-meter turning radius and a 1,335-km range into a 5.5-meter MPV.

A giant body usually spells trouble in a tight parking lot — but the Maextro V800 seems determined to prove otherwise. Tarantas.News got a close look at the flagship MPV at the 29th Chengdu Motor Show 2026: at 5,495 mm long with a 3,430 mm wheelbase, it claims a turning radius of just 5.4 meters. The rear wheels can turn up to ±12° — almost like a car half its size.

The V800 comes from Zunjie, the ultra-premium brand created by JAC and Huawei — known abroad as MAEXTRO. It's no debut anymore: official sales in China kicked off on August 5, 2026. Three trims are priced at 766,000, 866,000 and 1,016,000 yuan, or roughly $107,700, $121,700 and $142,700.

Under the skin, it's an all-wheel-drive series hybrid — and no half-measures here either. A 1.5-liter turbo engine works purely as a generator, while two electric motors rated at 160 and 230 kW drive the wheels. Combined output hits 390 kW, or roughly 530 hp. A 65 kWh battery is good for up to 340 km on CLTC without the engine ever firing, and total claimed range reaches 1,335 km CLTC — range anxiety doesn't seem to be on the table here.

Another unusual touch is the suspension. The V800 gets an 800-volt active system capable of lifting a single wheel by 80 mm, plus steer-by-wire technology. Trunk space is 758 liters, growing to 1,926 liters with the third row folded.

The first units are set to reach Chinese customers as early as September, with mass deliveries of the remaining trims planned for later in the month. No international launch has been announced by JAC or HIMA so far — for now, the V800 remains a China-only proposition.
