At the 29th Chengdu Motor Show 2026, Tarantas.News took a closer look at the Li Auto i6 — and it turns out this modest-looking five-seat electric crossover stopped being a “new arrival” a long time ago. By August 5, the 170,000th unit had rolled off the production line, even though sales only began in late September 2025. The pace is even more impressive considering output briefly dropped by around 4,000 cars in late July — a headlight supply shortage was to blame.
And the model’s main weapon hasn’t changed — the price. Li Auto keeps a single nationwide Chinese price of 249,800 yuan (roughly $35,000). Pay an extra 20,000 yuan and you get a dual-motor all-wheel-drive version — one that sprints to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds.
The i6 measures 4,950x1,935x1,655 mm on a wheelbase of exactly 3,000 mm. Every version gets an 87.3 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. The rear-wheel-drive variant is rated for up to 720 km on the CLTC cycle, and peak charging power reaches 500 kW. The manufacturer claims that ten minutes at a suitable 5°C station can add roughly 500 km of CLTC range.
Equipment-wise, the i6 sits much closer to Li Auto’s larger models than its price would suggest: Nappa leather, four ventilated seats, heating for all five, front massage function, lidar, and the AD Max suite built around the NVIDIA Thor-U processor all come standard. The options list includes a 21.4-inch rear screen, air suspension, a fridge, and soft-close doors.
