LIUX BIG electric quadricycle: affordable, eco-friendly urban EV
Spanish startup LIUX is launching the BIG electric quadricycle, priced under €18,000, with up to 215 km range. Eco-friendly, lightweight design for urban driving.
Spanish startup LIUX is finalizing preparations to launch its first production electric vehicle—the compact quadricycle BIG. The model has already completed validation and is in the final certification stage, with sales expected to begin in the coming months.
The focus is on affordability: priced under €18,000, this makes it one of Europe's cheapest electric cars. Production will be based in Spain, in Guadalajara, where the company is building its own factory with an investment of around €30 million.
The LIUX BIG falls into the L7e category and is designed for urban use. Despite its compact size—just 2.7 meters long—it offers a range of up to 215 km on the WMTC cycle thanks to a 15 kWh battery. A future version with a 20 kWh battery is planned, providing over 270 km of range.

Special attention has been paid to the construction: it uses an ultra-light composite frame and a body made from recyclable flax fiber. This has helped reduce weight and cut the carbon footprint by up to 40% compared to conventional urban electric vehicles.
In terms of features, the model is close to full-sized cars: it includes an 11-inch touchscreen, climate control, LED lighting, and smartphone integration. However, power is limited to 15 kW, with a top speed of 90 km/h—in line with class requirements.
In practice, LIUX is aiming to fill a niche between microcars and full electric vehicles, offering a more affordable alternative amid rising electric car prices in Europe.
